GovLoop Announces AwesomeGov Winner
Posted on December 23rd, 2009 by Craig Newmark
Looks like GovLoop is where gov't people at all levels figure out how to serve the public better. By working together, they get stronger and make things happen.
They just announced the winner of their AwesomeGov charity drive – Adventures for the Cure – a charity start-up created by two government employees who will use the $1,789 prize to support their own diabetes camp for kids as well as Kupenda for the Children, which helps children with disabilities in Kenya.
In total, there were nearly 100 charities submitted by members, ranging from Code for America to Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America to The Children's Inn, with over 3,000 votes. Adventures for the Cure took home the prize with over 1,100 votes.
Thanks for posting about AwesomeGov, Craig…and for all you do to promote and improve public service.
On behalf of Adventures for the Cure, thanks Craig for promoting AwesomeGov and its #charity efforts.
