In Washington: "The Creative List: New Media"

Hey, these guys have the right idea, have a list of people in DC who are successfully using new/social media, in particular: Beth Noveck, Peter Corbett, Alec Ross, Andrew Mcglaughlin, Aneesh Chopra, Julius Genachowski, Katie Stanton, and Steve Ressler.

They're the real deal.

A few others might include Andy Carvin, Vivek Kundra, Macon Phillips, and Ellen Miller, and probably others I'm forgetting. (Sorry!)
