Genocide . . .

Might want to expand the holdings to include what happened to the Armenians, and to the American Indians.

I know an old Armenian in Fresno, Calif. who said the history of the genocide of the Armenians, by I believe it was the Turks, should be told. Fresno, CA has a huge Armenia population and I feel certain some facts could be gleaned about this issue there.

Regarding Native American genocide, in California -- as one example -- there was even a price on the heads of American Indian men, women and children for their scalps. Read about it in Jack Forbes, Emeritis of Native American Studies and Antropology, University of California, Davis ( UC Davis )s book about Native Americans of California and Nevada (1982, Naturegraph) ISBN 0-87961-119-7 American Indians in California and Nevada. This is Jack D. Forbes homepage http://nas.ucdavis.edu/Forbes/forbes.html
See books by Jack D. Forbes including

--Columbus and Other Cannibals (1992, Automedia) ISBN 0-936756-70-S

Excerpts from this book taken from this webpage http://nas.ucdavis.edu/Forbes/CANNIBALS.html "I have come to the conclusion that imperialism and exploitation are forms of cannibalism and, in fact, are precisely those forms of cannibalism which are most diabolical or evil.... Cannibalism, as I define it, is the consuming of another's life for one's own private purpose or profit."

"With these words, Professor Jack D. Forbes introduces his concept of the wétiko disease or the sickness of cannibalism, a socio-cultural epidemic of which Columbus was a major carrier, according to Forbes."

"Thus the slaver who forces blacks or Indians to lose their lives in the slave-trade or who drains away their lives in a slave system is a cannibal. He may "eat" other people immediately... or he may "eat" their flesh gradually over a period of years."

. . .

"Although focusing upon tragic issues of terrorism, GENOCIDE [bolding emphasis added by twodogkd], and violence, Forbes does not offer only a negative view of human evolution"

and more.

There are also many other sources of information about genocide of American Indians, such as the Sand Creek Massacre of the Cheyenne Indians.

Stories lesser known, may be the massacre of various populations in the Sinkiang Province located in the Western end of China. An old Russian friend of mine (deceased about 8 years ago) from Noe Valley in San Francisco told me of the massacres, of different peoples at different times during the 1900's, with people being buried in mass graves. She had wanted to tell her life story, but could never find anyone to write it. She was in Look or Life Magazine in a big spread on her escape with her family over the Himalaya and her son knows much about her history.

Back to Hitler and what happened there. One hears primarily about the Jews that died there and there are very many good books and much information, but I understand that Gypsy s and others as well who were not Jews died in those concentration camps.
